T: So today we will learn Unit8 Happy New Year. Boys and girls,2022 is coming. Do you know what year is 2022?
It’s the year of tiger. New Year’s Day is on the first of January. What do people do on New Year’s Day? They will give gifts, have a big dinner together and go to the party.

Step 3 Story time
1. Watch and answer.
T: Look! Who is he?
S: He is Mike.
T: Look! Who is she?
S: She is Helen.
T: (门铃声)Listen! Who is coming? He is Uncle John. Follow me: Uncle John

T: Uncle John brings some presents. What presents does Uncle John bring? First, please look at this picture. Do you remember them? What’s this?
S: It’s a doll.(复习所学物品)
T: Let’s watch the cartoon and find the answers. (播放课文动画)

2. Read and talk.
T: So we know on New Year’s Day, Uncle John comes to see Mike and Helen. He brings a doll, a ball and a robot. What’s for Helen? What’s for Mike? What’s for Tim? Now open your books. Please read their dialogue and find the answers.
T: OK. Time’s out. Can you tell me: Who are they for?

S: This doll is for Helen.
T: Good job. How do you know?
