2. Sing a song

T: Are you happy? 

S: Yes.

T: I’m happy too. Let’s enjoy a happy song. (播放音乐)

T: This song is called “Happy New Year”.Follow me:Happy New Year.

S: Happy New Year!

T: So today we will learn Unit8 Happy New Year. Boys and girls,2022 is coming. Do you know what year is 2022?

It’s the year of tiger. New Year’s Day is on the first of January. What do people do on New Year’s Day? They will give gifts, have a big dinner together and go to the party.

Step 2 Presentation

1. Learn the new words

 T: Look. Here are some presents. Let’s see what’s this in the box? Wow ,What’s this?

S: It’s a sweet.

T: Yes. Look, what’s this?（拿出糖果）

S: It’s a sweet.

T: What colour is the sweet?

S: It’s orange.

T: Would you like a sweet?

S: Yes,please.

T: This is for you.

S: Thank you.

T:What’s this?

S: It’s an egg.

T: Look, what’s this?（拿出鸡蛋图片）

S: It’s an egg.

T: Would you like an egg?

S: Yes,please.

T: This is for you.

S: Thank you.

T: Look, what’s this?（拿出玩偶图片）

S: It’s a doll.

T: Would you like a doll?

S: Yes,please.

T: This is for you.

S: Thank you.

T: Look, what’s this?（拿出球）

S: It’s a ball.

T: What colour is the ball?

S: It’s blue.

T: Would you like a blue ball?

S: Yes,please.

T: This is for you.

S: Thank you.

T: Look! Here are so many presents. Let’s see. What’s that? Let’s ask together.

T: Look, what’s that?（拿出球）

S: It’s a car.

T: What colour is the car?

S: It’s blue.

T: Would you like a blue car?

S: Yes,please.

T: This is for you.

S: Thank you.

T: Look, what’s that?（拿出球）

S: It’s a robot.

T: Would you like a robot?

S: Yes,please.

T: This is for you.

S: Thank you.

T: Look, what’s that?（拿出球）

S: It’s a CD..

T: Would you like a CD?

S: Yes,please.

T: This is for you.

S: Thank you.

Step 3 Story time

1. Watch and answer.

T: Look! Who is he?

S: He is Mike.

T: Look! Who is she?

S: She is Helen.

T: （门铃声）Listen! Who is coming? He is Uncle John. Follow me: Uncle John

S: Uncle John.

T: Uncle John brings some presents. What presents does Uncle John bring? First, please look at this picture. Do you remember them? What’s this?

S: It’s a doll.（复习所学物品）

T: Let’s watch the cartoon and find the answers.  (播放课文动画)

T: What presents does Uncle John bring? 

S: A doll, a ball, a robot..

2. Read and talk.

T: So we know on New Year’s Day, Uncle John comes to see Mike and Helen. He brings a doll, a ball and a robot. What’s for Helen? What’s for Mike? What’s for Tim? Now open your books. Please read their dialogue and find the answers.

T: OK. Time’s out. Can you tell me: Who are they for?

The first one?

S: This doll is for Helen.

T: Good job. How do you know?

S: （回答）

T: When Uncle John gives the present to Helen. What does Uncle John say?

This is for you, Helen.（跟读）

S: This is for you, Helen.

T: Helen gets the present. She is very happy. What does she say?

  Thank you, Uncle John. （跟录音读）

S: Thank you, Uncle John.

T: The second one. What is the ball for? 

S: This ball is for Mike.

T: When Uncle John gives the present to Helen. What does Uncle John say?

S: This is for you, Helen.

（跟读录音）

T: MIke gets the present. He is very happy. What does he say?

Thank you, Uncle John. （跟录音读）

S: Thank you, Uncle John.

T: The second one. What is the robot for? 

S: This robot is for Tim.

T: How do you know?

S:（回答）

T: When Uncle John gives the present to Tim. What does Uncle John say?It’s a robot. It’s for Tim.（跟录音读）

S: It’s a robot. It’s for Tim.

4. Read the story

T: You did a very good job. This time, let’s read and imitate. Pay attention to your pronunciation and intonation.

S: (学生逐句跟读对话)

T: OK. Now please work in three. You can read the story together. You can read in roles.  

S: (学生分组读课文)

T: Which group wants to try?

Step 4 Small challenge
