Unit 5 Helping our parents

(Story time)

一、教学目标:

1. 初学课文,会读、会说本单元重点词句: clean, cook, wash, sweep, busy; What is he/she doing? He/She isWhat are you/they doing? I am/We/They are

2. 能正确的理解并朗读课文,在教师的引导和帮助下,借助图片或关键词尝试复述课文内容。

3. 能初步运用本课所学的词汇和句型询问别人正在做什么。

4. 体谅父母的辛劳,树立观念:力所能及帮助父母!

二、教学重难点:

教学重点:能正确理解并朗读课文,在教师的帮助下尝试复述课文。

教学难点:能初步运用本课所学的词汇和句型询问别人正在做什么。

三、教学准备:

     CAI, pictures and cards

四、教学过程:

Step 1 Pre-tory

 1.Free talk

 What day is it today?

 What day is it tomorrow?

 Do you like Saturday?

 What do you do on Saturdays?

 I usually clean the house on Saturdays. I usually do housework on Saturdays.

  Read: do housework

2.Brain Strom

   Say some names about housework. make... clean... cook...

Teach: clean the car/ table  make the bed  sweep the floor  wash the dishes/clothes

揭题:Today our topic is helping our parents. Today we learn Unit 5 helping our parents

Step 2 While-story

1.T: Here's a story about helping parents. Look at the title, what do you want to know?

S:

T: You have questions about who, when and what.

2.Watch and choose

T: Let’s answer the questions.

    a. What day is it today?

      It's Saturday.

    b. Who is helping their parents?

      Read the questions.

      Let's watch the cartoon and choose.

3.Listen and coose

T: Mike and Helen are helping their parents. What housework are they doing?

(1). Let’s listen and choose.

 (2). Check.

    What is Mike's father doing?

    He's cleaning the car.  Read after the teacher.

    Look at two sentences, they both have be +doing

   T: I give you a leaning tip. Read together.

 Tips:句中都有be动词,动词都采用了ing形式。这样的句型表示正在发生某事或正在做某个动作,这种时态叫现在进行时。

   What is Mike's mother doing?

   She's cooking breakfast and cooking dinner.

   What is Mike/ Helen doing in the morning and in the afternoon?

 (3). T: Mike’s father is cleaning the car in the morning. Guess, what is Mike’s father doing in the afternoon?

    S: Maybe he is…

 (4)What do you think of their Saturday?

    It's busy/happy/meaningful...

 (5)Try to say(partner 1)

   T: Let's talk about how are Mike and Helen helping their parents?

     Practice with  Partner 1

 Mike is helping his parents. He is cleaning the car and cleaning the table.

 Helen is helping her parents. She is sweeping the floor and washing the dishes.  

4. Read and answer

   T: Mike and Helen are helping parents. Who else is there in the story? What are they doing?

    Read the story and find out.

   T: Who else is there in the story?

   S:Jim , Ben and Ben.

   T: Who is Jim? When does he come to Mike’s home?

Culture Tip: In many foreign countries, pets are also their family members.

  T: What are they doing?

  S: They're sleeping in the bedroom./ eating fruit and watching.

  T: Why aren't they doing housework?

  S: Because they are young.

  Try to say(Let's talk about two pictures with Partner 2)

 5. Culture time

Step 3 Post-story

1. Listen and imitate (Let's read after the tape.)

  Pay attention to the falling tone and stress. Nice voice, I like your reading.

2. Read the story together.

3. Happy reading.

4. Choose one(Mike's family) to be. Tell us the story again!

5. Emotional education

6. Try to write: It's Saturday morning, what are your family members doing?

Step 4  Homework:

1. Read Story time fluently and try to retell.

2. Write a story about your family activities on Sunday.
